The 24 Hours of Le Mans is recognized as one of the world’s “big three” motorsport events but, in endurance racing, there is no greater race.  It is the pinnacle, the jewel in the crown, the race that every entrant from around the world wants to win.  Porsche, Toyota, Ferrari, Ford, Aston Martin, Chevrolet, Motul and Michel Vaillant will be there… Will you?
This year’s 85th running of the famous French classic will take place on 17/18th June and hundreds of thousands of motorsport fans will be following the third round of the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at the track, and millions elsewhere via TV screens, social media, radio or internet. The action begins with qualifying on Wednesday/Thursday 14/15th June, with the main event beginning at 15h00 on Saturday.

Motul, Le Mans and Michel Vaillant
Motul’s motorsport history is inextricably entwined with Le Mans and the Automobile Club de L’Ouest (ACO), organisers of the event. This relationship was cemented last year when the world-renowned performance lubricant specialist became official lubricant partner to the WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The excitement has been ramped up even further with the inclusion in the entry list of the famous Vaillante name.
Motul, Graton Editions and Rebellion Racing have joined forces to bring back to Le Mans the legendary cartoon character, Michel Vaillant, for the first time in 20 years. The iconic French fictional racing driver will be present with two Vaillante LMP2 cars whilst celebrating the launch of a new comic book edition entitled “Rébellion”.

Who to look out for in Motul’s colors
Well, the two Vaillante Rebellions of course!  The No.13 and No.31 with a top class cast of names:
Nicolas Prost, Bruno Senna and Julien Canal (No.31) and
Nelson Piquet Jr, David Heinemeier Hansson and Mathias Beche (No.13).

Receiving Motul’s support in LMP2 will be Graff Racing, TDS Racing, United Autosport, Algarve Pro Racing, Dragonspeed, IDEC Sport Racing and Eurasia Motorsport. In LMGTE Am, Clearwater Racing with two Ferraris and Larbre Competition with its trusty Corvette.
Oiling the way to success
All LMP2 entrants use engines supplied by one of Motul’s partners, Gibson, who relies on more durable and more efficient lubricants such as Motul 300V Power Racing 5W30 engine oil.  Le Mans is the ultimate test of man and machine therefore entrants can’t afford weak areas; the engine lubricant is not one of those! These capabilities are represented on the high performance 300V Le Mans branded engine oil, and RBF660 brake fluid, both developed thanks to years of endurance racing involvement. You can keep up to date with the Motul teams at Le Mans 24hrs through Motul’s Facebook , Instagram and Youtube accounts.
