McGloin Makes Progress with Motul

Nathalie McGloin Racing is very excited to be able to start using the Motul products provided by Witham Oil as they head into the start of the Porsche Club Championship season. The first official test day using Motul oils and brake fluid took place on the Friday of the May Bank holiday weekend at Brands Hatch. McGloin managed to make up three seconds on her qualifying time since last year and is putting the progress down to using quality products in her race car.
“I knew I could be quicker this season, but finding three seconds around Brands Indy was more than I was expecting. I know there’s further progress to be made too. I’ve had the steering lightened to make up for the fact that I only have my left hand on the wheel whilst my right hand operates the hand controlled brake and throttle and it’s making the car so much easier to drive. The car also runs faultlessly now I’m supported by quality brands like Witham Group. Their Motul products are some of the best in the business and being able to use them in my racing Cayman S has given the car the edge that I’ve been looking for.”
Nathalie is learning her craft well as she enters into her third season of racing. Driving the car is one thing but Nathalie believes that properly understanding the mechanics of the car will further improve her driving.
“I used to take little interest in the servicing and the mechanical make up of the car when I first started racing, believing that I had to put all of my energy into bettering my race craft. However, the more I’ve raced, the more I have begun to understand that the two things go hand in hand. Having mechanical understanding helps me to appreciate what the car is doing underneath me and really feel it working. This gives me the confidence to really push the car into the corners and know exactly how much grip I have to exploit and make up time.
Developing this mind set has also helped me realise how important it is to run quality products in the car. The refinement of any Porsche engine deserves the best quality lubricants and I’m delighted that Witham Group have seen value in offering me support through providing Motul Products.”

Nathalie is gearing up for more testing ahead of her race at Oulton Park on the 13^th May. With the support of Witham Group, the team knows that she can really start to make her mark on the 2017 season. With the Cayman S running the best quality lubricants, and a driver who is really building skill and confidence it’s only a matter of time before they’ll have to put a ramp access up to that podium.
